Nooo...the new TVR Sagaris was recently launched and although I'm unsure whether I like it as much as the first, and although both of the cars you mention are very good, it's certainly the sportscar of the year for me.:)
Some people are suggesting cars that were launched prior to 2006, the whole point of "Car of the YEAR" is that it's supposed to be a recognition of the best new car (i.e. one that was launched this YEAR, funnily enough!)
Oh, and I really think we need a definition of "sports cars", because we need to know whether we're comparing the MX-5 you (Clutch) suggested to the likes of the Koenigsegg CCX that Cyco suggested, or whether there are price, power etc. limits.

it's sold pretty much exclusively in a country of the same surface area as my backyard, at least both vehicles i mentioned are available worldwide :D :p
