Coulthard punchup in the paddock

David Coulthard grabbed Felipe Massa by the throat after clashing with the Brazilian twice in last weekend's San Marino Grand Prix.

Massa's Sauber eventually passed the Red Bull of DC at the second Rivazza corner after coming to blows on two separate occasions during the race.

As he went by Massa flipped Coulthard a finger, incensing the Scot who later confronted the 24-year-old as he left the paddock in a hire car.

"I was absolutely furious and saw red," Coulthard told the Daily Mirror newspaper.

"I leaned in (to the car) and grabbed him by the neck. I have respect for other drivers and I expect them to have respect for me.

"Then I looked up and saw his parents were in the back and that cooled things down pretty quickly.

"I didn't want to embarrass him in front of them."

DC is adamant that he did nothing wrong and totally rejects Massa's accusations of unsportsmanlike behaviour on the race track.

"Massa accussed me of driving his car off the road at 200mph and I have never done that in my life.

"But I am not in this business to give way to anyone.

"He came up behind me and went down my right but I was not about to go the dirty part of the track. He should have picked a better place to try and pass."

I was surprised RBR didn't' ask the stewards to penalise for Massa's manoeuvres. Neither time we saw him hit DC did it look like he had track position !!!

Nice to see him put Massa in his place!!
It was great to see the close up replays of Massa givin' the bird!
It does seem like the two buddies Villeneuve and Coulthard are taking it in turns to be the mobile road block.
Thats one thing that these qualifying and the new tyre rules are gonna bring more of.

I can tell Monaco will be frustrating for more than a couple of drivers.

So DC seen Red Bull RBR should have there nuts removed for not launching a complaint against masssa it was very untidy, I was thinking after the second time did DC run his cat over or something?

Massa picked bad places to try to overtake. He should have been penalised for those manuvers.

MINARDI TAKES TWO TO TANGO
Last Updated: Thursday, 28, April, 2005, 17:46

Minardi drivers Christijan Albers and Chanoch Nissany has some explaining to do yesterday after they crashed into each other while testing at Mugello yesterday.

Albers was driving one of the team's new PS05 chassis, while the Isreali driver was in one of the team's old PS04Bs.

"One zigged when he should have zagged," was the official explanation from a team spokesman.

"I think one of the cars came up on the other, clipped the back of it and spun them both out."

Neither driver was hurt in the incident.

That was a trick the prost team would do during races.
