This is Lada Revolution - new Russian racing car. There is Lada Revolution Cup in 2005.

What is your opinion about this car?

seems slow and heavy.
0-100 kmh in 6.5s
and weights 650kg (1433lbs)

numbers from HERE

i have seen (and built!) much better and faster with a smaller engine and lighter chassis that go faster.

but its a good start.

It looks like it races in a one-make series, so all out performance is not as important. Remember it is still a Lada.

true and true and true
however, as a coincidence the car i was talking about is right now in the process of being homologated for a spec (one make) series down in austrailia

i was trying to find more info but its was mostly russian. is the engine from a road car? if so thats more impressive. seems they also have a more powerful verison for racing. also, its street legal so it has to have some comprimises.

1.6-litre engine taken from road car (160 h.p.). The price of Lada Revolution is from 30000 to 50000 euros and competition costs 3000 euro for one stage. The manufacturer is going to make new version - Lada Revolution SuperSport with 215-hp engine.

To be expected, didn't EVERYONE end up with R5 and Clio one-make along with all the others the small Eurobox manufacturers use to promote the "sportiness" of their cars. it never made them any faster Witness the Rover 200 series

Lotus, Caterham, Westfield, LoCost, Robin Hood, Radical .... long, long list of road going cars raced in one-make series ( and soem in open )
It's numbers aren't really all that impressive.
BUT maybe for a track which is normally filled with monster Holden's it'll be interesting

WhoTH would pay 50k for a lada? This car was new to me, so thanks for sharing! Perhaps the russian manufacturers are becoming worth to keep an eye on...

50000 is really expensive for a Lada. But some other for cars for Russian racing series (Touring) are more expensive.
