Richard also told me the story of Richard Burns/Robert reid retiring from Rally Gb in 2003, , Richard Axford and his son james [at the time 7 yrs old and wearing a Subaru shirt and fleece] went into the bar of the Cardiff Hilton, who was in there but Richard Burns/Robert Reid.
Richard came and had a chat with young James, unfortunately there were no souvenirs about so Richard Burns did no more than unzip overalls, take his tshirt off , autograph it and present it to James. Fantastic Story, Fantastic Bloke, RIP Richard
Damn

RIP Burnsie

I don't know who he is and how he died but that's so sad. It shows how dangerous motorsports are and how these guys risk their lives each time they drive. Somehow WRC seems to be having a lot of deaths lately.

Okay, so we all saw George Best's death coming, but Richard Burns? Why? How?

He did, didn`t he?
Can`t blame WRC for that...
But a true loss for motorsports anyway..
My condolences to his family and those who stood him near.

R.I.P Richard.
