Drinking for Holland? Don't mind if I do... Questions like "Why?" and "How?" are unnecessary anyway.

Here is some of today's stuff. Tomorrow the cars will finally take to the track, but through which pit exit is yet to be determined. It will also be a good sign wether all the buzz around the Audi team is justified. We fear it is.

Let's hope Audi doesn't have any heat problems like they did at Sebring

It was more of a telemetry problem than heat problem. Chunks of rubber got into their rad duct and the engine started overheating, but their telemetry failed to tell them and when they noticed it was too late....Le Mans won't be as dirty as Sebring....

Wouter, remember to get a LOT of R10 pic! Both test and race day!

I don't really know anything about this sort of racing, so sorry for the noob question. So is the way this works is that there is a test at Le Mans and then the 24hr race is later, or is the test just practive for the race which follows straight after?

The test used to be a month before the actual race, now it's just 2 weeks before I think. ACO moved the schedule because ALMS requested them so that they can have more races between Sebring and Le Mans itself. So teams don't have to leave in April for the early May test and stays in Europe til the race in June.

Side note, interesting thing as pointed out by DSC, the CA06H and Zytek 06S, both as the "ex-Reynard 02S", are running a different Hybrid package. CA06H runs on 675 class wheel width where as the Zytek runs the full LMP1/900 class width. Which might give the CA06H a significant advantage at Le Mans because of the narrower wheelwell bodywork and reduced frontal area.....

interesting difference.....

Also worth noting is under the skin, the 06S is a new car...

just got some feedback on the R10.
It is the fastest car on track, and makes the least noice. Typical for a modern diesel

the Audis will just drive fast enough, they will need less stops and going too fast will attract the interest of the regulators which may want to change the requirements for diesel powered engines.

I see that Montigny is now fastest,....

The Judd powered LMP1s will have an advantage in traffic and in slow(er) areas...
