All classes, but most importantly Improved Production has a 29 car field! So get out there you UCP motorsport fans...
PS clutch-monkey...don't spend the weekend dissecting small furry animals...get out there with ya mates and see some club-level stuff on the National Track...You won't be sorry

There's always more racing on the Sunday, Saturday is taken up with scrutineering from about 0700, then straight into qualifying. The racing on Saturday usually starts around 1300. Sunday they get into it fairly early around 0830-0900 depending on how the Drivers Briefing goes etc...if you get hold of Queensland Raceway either on the website or by phone they can tell you how much to get in ...but the beauty of a club level meeting is there are few spectators, you can easily access the cars and people are always willing to chat....there are no downsides ...oh except there are no grid-girls

Well smack in the middle of the worst drought in South East Queensland in 100 years, Nature decides to rain on our race weekend We haven't had a lot of rain here for months, today we got over and 36mm (inch and a half) in about 2 hours, you can guess the results. Qualifying was constantly stopped by red flags due to cars buried in gravel traps, and the racing started late ballast had a bit of a shocker, the Honda mis-firing badly in qualifying, resulting in a 22nd out of about 29 cars. A bit disappointing after last weekends efforts. Fortunately in the scratch race he finished 14th, which salvaged something for his efforts
Some photos:
#1 ballast showing his best side while he cleans the fuel filters, this is club motorsport at it's best, laying on a soaking wet piece of road, in the pissing rain, working on your car
#2 & 3 Some of the diversity of Improved Production in qualifying
#3-6 Ferrari, Porsche and Cobra replica in qualifying for the Sports car 1 Hour Race.

QR on Sunday

Sunday didn't get any better!...Race 1 couldn't clear the mis-fire, but did have a good battle with a couple of other cars Race 2 was a dead-loss, having replaced the distributor and cured the mis-fire, ballast blasted off, missed the stalled Escort in front of him, rounded up the V8 Commodore into turn one got overtaken by an RX3, which promptly spun under brakes in turn 3 and ballast hit him straight in the side end of race, end of meeting, end of weekend. Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed
# 1 & 2 The damage, not bad, but we could do without it.
#3 The Honda goes under an RX7 into turn 1
#4 The RX7 gets the place back
#5 & 6 The lead pack in Race 2.
