Track day with small video, shock horror the brake conversion worked

Brakes worked fantastic, dropped 2 secs a lap straight away down from a 29 to a flat 27, didnt fade, plenty of bite, car needs still more rear brake. Might try a different bias adjuster had mine full rear and still needs more. The new rear Konis have got rid of the nervousness from the rear Thought I was flying round, nephew took it for a spin and did a 1.25 flat then a mid 24, he rekons a high 22 is very acheivable He was braking probably 100 metres latter than me everywhere and on the power a lot earlier everywhere. Lap record for Mallala is a 1.25.1 for class D U1600, so the car has plenty of potential. I just need to learn to drive faster . Car goes to paint on Thursday, then its stickered up and ready for action

Heres a vid of it from the northern to turn 1, mate's chasing me in his RX4 IP car with 13 Bp in it, you can hear the quad ITB's down the start/finish straight then his rotor noise takes over. He had me on the straights but I got out the corners that much quicker I always gapped him by a couple, he' much later on the brakes than me, I still not fully confident with them yet

I think thats one thing i couldnt stand if i had a track car of my own, having someone else jump in and go seconds faster straight away Good to hear the brakes work though.

I know what you mean, was talking to the nephew tonight about the car and he rekons for the amount of laps Im doing okay. As he said you just keep going faster and faster and before you know it your right on the pace.

Im 3 secs a lap quicker than the brothers ke20, thats all that really matters

How do you go doing say 5-10 laps one day, thinking youve made progress, then coming back maybe weeks later and trying to pick up where youve started? It must feel like 2 steps forward, one step back at times i suppose.

Had my first race meet yesterday, I was very nervous in qualifying and race 1they were a blur and I drove badly. Race 2 : started to get my act together and was a lot more consistent. Race 3:Was a night race , I was actually leading my class and second last lap outbraked myself and let 3 cars through.

I had a absolute ball and cant wait to hit the track next year. We built my car in 8 months and it didnt DNF in its first race meet. I passed the OLT and put the car back on the trailer in the same condition as the start of the race meet. VERY VERY HAPPY. Reloading for next year

A video of my KE25 with a 4AGE 20V BT round Mallala... As you will see I'm very very soft through the esses and soft on the brakes everywhere, there is a good 2 secs a lap there I rekon.

here another vid of a Audi RS4 doing hot laps round Mallala, the lap times are amazingly close with the rolla.... both around the 1.25 mark to do a lap, the audi is driven by one of audis high performance driving instructors though, not some fat guy with a mid life crisis
