spectacular junior F1 - GP2 crash Viso
another spectacular Formula 1 crash (GP2 is junior F1). This time from 2007 Magny Cours GP2 Ernesto Viso crashes into air... trying to be like Robert Kubica

Holy craaaaaappp! He is lucky to not have been killed.....if the car had barrel-rolled flying sideways along the barrier only a foot or so farther back on the car that could have been his head!

I was watching it live on Eurosport yesterday. It was a really weird race. Two cars of the same team on the front row at the starting grid. After only 200 meters the two hit each other, hitting the wall together. Then half a lap later this huge crash, safety car came out so everybody went for their compulsory pitstop and one of them hit his mechanic very hard...
After the one lap behind the safety car, there was a red flag and the race was suspended for over an hour.

Shown from another angle, I think I saw the monocoque break from the middle so that the front end was twisted to the side. Also his head was quite close to hitting the cement wall, so he was very lucky to survive with an arm injury. I was expecting a lot worse as the race was suspended for such a long time even though there wasn't a lot of debris on track.

Amazing crash indeed. Shows how safety has evolved in racing cars.
On a side note, how funny was both cars in the front row crashing about 100metres into the race. Being team mates only makes it better...
