To be honest all the infos about the car with the wankel engine i have, are from the net. For example:

Craig's Rotary Page: LADA rotary cars from Russia/USSR
Autosoviet: LADA (Part 2)

Rotary 110's entered our touring cars races, that's true. But I have never heard of racing attempts for those 2-liter cars with the same bodies.

You are right. I just mean that the pics you have attached show a WTCC prototype unveiled at the 2005 Moscow autoshow which was just a prototype. The car which was finally developed by AvtoVAZ and MTEC SPORT in the early 2006 was the below:

Oh, then it explains my confusion, as I wasn't there BTW, contrary to what the article says, they didn't yet switch to Priora. And I believe they won't do it in 2008.

As for the car itself, for me the best ever touring car made of Lada 110 is still a Lukoil Racing 21103 for Supertourism.

There is a difference: Then was a factory team and now a private team with technical support from the factory. I think that if the attempt goes well, next year we will see the new Lada Priora WTCC with full factory support

I guess they (I mean factory) simply must prepare a Priora for a 2009 season. Otherwise, such a great advertisement possibilities will be lost.
Didn't quite get you again Were you speaking about Lukoil 21103 as a factory prepared car?

I agree. And since the Lada Priora is a modernized modification of the Lada 2110, I suppose that the development of the Lada Priora WTCC will not be very difficult or high costed.

No, I speak about Lada Racing, a "joint venture" between the motorsport division of the Lada factory (AvtoVAZ) and MTEC SPORT from Germany (see MTEC GmbH).

I've just read a fresh note about WTCC Lada, and actually there will be NO support from the factory - technical, moral, dancing - absolutely nothing. Result: Zandvoort tests -> 5 seconds slower than leaders...

^ sorry, haven't seen your post

In Wednesday’s official test session at Oschersleben the results were better:

Jaap van Lagen (LADA 110) 1:36.476
Victor Shapovalov (LADA 110) 1:37.753

The best lap by Y. Muller (SEAT León TDI) 1:35.227

see FIA WTCC

Anyway, I don't expect any groundbreaking results this year. The cars are new (ahem... I mean their racing evolution, as 110 Lada's were ready in eighties...), so even though they're Chevy-based, they won't be free of technical failures. Maybe they'll record some scores, but obviously no champion's crown
