Circuits I created.
On a blank sheet of paper with a ruler and mechanical pencil.
What do you think of them? This first one is what I think a modern Hockenheim could look like. Long blasting straights with a slower infield section. I loved the old track, but sadly it lost it's place.

I love the first 3 corners. I did this track thinking they'd bee something like 130 from Suzuka, sorting men from boys. The long straights should be enough for decent overtaking and racing. Any thoughts??

Number 3.
Totally original, I've never seen anything like it. It has some fast and sweeping corners that should prove interesting, especially 2, 3, 5 and 6. Your thoughts...

I think the first one is great, it looks like it would quite fun to drive either of the variables

Oh, yes.
The shorter infield track could be used for club racing, testing or bike racing. The more you can use a track the better. The 'oval' layout could be used for straight line testing and anybody mental enough to race it. ![]()

Couple of points/questions ....
What about gradients ? Personally it's too "new school" - so constant radius curves etc etc --- imho the curse of F1 track changes these last 20 years. THe sharp angle corners will be a problem too. Drivers will cut corners ![]() Caution, straights no longer make for overtaking All formulas rely too much on downforce Think about designing a sequence of curves which then measn there are 2 or 3 different ways to enter the first -- make it wide at these points and then drivers will be able to use the braking zone to switch routes and add interest. As initial proposals I like them all for differing reasons ![]()

When you look around the world at the best tracks, one feature that comes to mind is not only the shape of the track but how its altitude varies. Think Nurburgring, Spa, Monaco and Laguna Seca. In my opinion certainly some of the most interesting tracks in the world.
I also think a suzuka style figure of 8 is nice, and the setting of the track is important too, old airfields are flat, boring and depressing. |

It's hard to place the elevation changes on a blank sheet of paper, maybe if I drew over a map or something. I'll try to include some later on.

I like it when you can negotiate multiple corners in a single arc, i found such sections in the 2nd (first 2 corners) and in the 4th.

If track 4 was in a hilly region, I'd enjoy it.

Question- What counts as a corner and not a corner? Some of those turns were kinda shallow.
I know nothing of tracks/driving really, so they look interesting, but I'm not much to decide over it. The only tracks I am accustomed to are the ones in GT4 and GT3. Embarrassingly. It might change in the future though. |

I guess it doesn't have an exact definition. When they talk about the Nόrburgring they mention any number of corners from about 60 to about 160. I watched Nring videos and counted how many times the car changed its direction and I counted 101.

I don't know either. That long quadruple apex corner at Istambul, does it count as 1 or 4 corners?
