Were there not many people espousing the "any publicity is good publicity" for the sport during last years scandals? Now it seems everyone wants to eschew this story! And the F1 Circus rolls on!

Maybe it just goes to show that he is not a popular man.

If Jackie Stewart is in any way a vengeful man, he's probably happy that Max is in the shits, same with Ron Dennis, and I'm sure the list goes on and on.

I would rather go for Ron Dennis to break the ferrari monotony but i will side with Jean Todt if it means Mad Max will be kicked out of the FIA

You don't get a reputation like Mosley's by tip-toeing through tulip fields. you get it by busting heads and kicking doors.

But seriously, if this is the only way people can think of bringing him down, it cheapens the image of the sport (who can honestly say, of those in power, that they haven't been caught in a sexually compromising position? Mosley's biggest mistake was letting it be captured on Camera) and just cements it's reputation as not about the racing, more about the Paddock.

Well, the News of the World are showing no signs of backing down in their battle with Mosley. Turns out the rumours were true about them going back on the offensive with todays edition...

Well it sure looks as if NOTW has most of the facts correct.

So, who is your pick as his replacement?

1. Jackie Stewart
2. Jean Todt
3. Eddie Jordan
4. ???????

Hmm good point.
Remember he gave Jordan F1 as the reputation as F1's "fun team"

Eddie Jordan's personal spending was one reason why Jordan went downhill as a team. Would he be able to lead and maintain the FIA better than his own team?

gpweek.com have a bit of a run through of possible replacements for Mosley, with no mention of EJ. Other than the main figures such as Ron Dennis, Jean Todt and Charlie Whiting, they list Mike Boeri (head of FIA Senate, WMSC vice-president and chairman of the Automobile Club of Monaco), Marco Piccinini (FIA deputy president, former Ferrari F1 sporting director), Nick Craw (president of the Automobile Competition Committee for the US), Peter Meyer (Head of the ADAC), Robert Darbelnet (head of the American AA) and Alan Evans (head of the Australian Automobile Association). Theres also the suggestion the role of FIA president will be replaced with a committee.

I figured he wouldent be there it was just an option I liked which is why I brought it up.

The other point I like here is for it to be replaced by a comittee several ideas instead of just one.

I reckon I could give it a go. Hell, we could just dedicate a forum thread to running the FIA. That way it couldn't be filmed doing anything dodgy!

An interesting article about Max Mosley's reign at the FIA, published before all this latest controversy kicked off.

Certain aspects of it have to be taken with a pinch of salt as it uses lots of Rubython's patented "present unsubstantiated, anonymous insider information as being cast iron fact" style of journalism. However, it does provide an interesting perspective on the man and his relationship with Bernie Ecclestone amongst others...
