Interesting that he says that he always planned to step down in 2009 and that the sex scandal had no influence, when just over a month ago (just a couple of days before the sex scandal broke) he said he was still unsure and was considering a fifth term beyond 2009. (source - autosport.com - F1 News: Mosley could stay on for fifth term )

His interview in today's Sunday Telegraph has some rather hilarious quotes. He talked about how he was appalled by the "betrayal" of the prostitute who planted the NOTW camera. Really?! A prostitute deciding to do something slightly immoral in exchange for cash? And I always thought prostitutes were such fine, upstanding members of our society! Seriously Max, you can't really be THAT naive, can you?!

But the best quote was...

Quote:

Of course Max. They are all quite clearly into doing lice inspections on elderly gentlemen, placing rectal thermometers into their wrinkled assholes, and then dressing in prison uniforms to be whipped by said wrinkly old man. I'm sure it's every young girl's dream. That's why you had to pay them VAST sums of cash for them to do it for you, was it Max? Who on earth is he trying to kid?!

The mind boggles.

He also claims that the embarrassment to his family is not his fault, it's the fault of those naughty media types - "What's let them [his family] down are these people spying on me and then publicising something."

So it wasn't your fault at all then, eh Max?

He then goes onto one of his favourite topics, slagging off ex-drivers...

Quote:
it's interesting that none of the heavyweights have said anything, the people who really are the opinion formers in Formula 1. There's a few ex-drivers [who have criticised him]. But they're based on the idea that somehow you can't have in your life any sort of sexual activity that's at all eccentric. That's a view that most people grow out of when they pass through adolescence.
Also interesting that he says there that none of the big-hitters have criticised him. So BMW, Mercedes, Honda and Toyota aren't all that influential are they?

Oh, and if you've ever had an accident in a modern car and walked away, apparently it's all down to the brilliance of Max Mosley.

Quote:
So I can honestly say, and this is the thing that gives me great professional satisfaction, that as far as road cars are concerned, there are an awful lot of people walking around today healthy and uninjured, who would not have been walking around healthy and uninjured had I not done what I've been doing for the last 15 years. And it sounds a bit boastful, but that's a fact.
People have been waiting for Mosley to speak for weeks. Frankly, I think he would have been better keeping his mouth shut!

Max is an idiot in denial. He will recieve a vote of non-confidence in June and soon after step aside.

The real question should be, who will replace him.

If this story has any substance, the situation for Mosley is looking more ridiculous by the minute!

Formula One teams are so reluctant to be seen with Max Mosley that they are reportedly considering hiring 'paddock spotters' to warn them of his movements if, as expected, the disgraced FIA President appears at the forthcoming Monaco GP.

Mosley's return to the paddock - he hasn't attended a race since he was exposed in the News of the World allegedly taking part in a sordid sex session - threatens to overshadow the centrepiece of the Formula One season. While only a few teams have publicly called on Mosley, who faces a FIA hearing in Paris next month, to consider his position, they are all reportedly united in their reluctance to be seen in his company.

The Times claims that one team principal has told the newspaper that they 'will keep an eye on Mosley so they can avoid him and have even considered an informal scouting system around the Monte Carlo paddock to warn them of his presence. Another team source said almost all the teams were making preparations to avoid Mosley. The source, who added that "furtive conversations" on this issue between teams had taken place at Istanbul Park last weekend, said: "The safe majority of teams are considering what they should do about their important people in terms of interaction with the president of the FIA at Monaco."

While the farcical situation underlines the extent to which Mosley's position has become untentable, the man himself is said to be determined to attend the event, regardless of the furore it is bound to call. Aside from being the crown jewel of the F1 calendar, Monaco is also considered to be the most important commerical event of the year, with a host of high-profile and lucrative business deals conducted during F1's brief but glamorous stay in the principality.

This is comedy-gold, but simply business as usual for the F1 circus!

The sport is opening itself up to absolute ridicule.

Mosely's in so much denial it's not funny. If Freud were alive today, he'd peg him with denial and rationalization (Jack Bauer's quote). Possibly reaction-formation (if we knew his true thoughts, his "so what" mentality may just be the opposite of his true feelings) and definitely overactive id (what got him to go do it with Nazi hookers in the first place).

Ok, time for me to put away the Freudian crap.

Now, it's reported that one of the prostitutes was the wife of an MI5 agent and he has resigned becuase of the situation.

This is an absolutely bizarre story that is getting weirder as time goes on.

I want to know who set up the sting for Mosley.

So the British government was angry that the Mclaren team was docked points last and set up a covert operation to take down the lead of the FIA? ...no?

Max only has one more week to worry about the FIA. I'm sure Bernie has been burning up the phone lines gathering support for a vote of non-confidence. Bernie never misses an opportunity to advance his own cause. From friends to foes in the less than the time it takes a prostitute to crack a whip!

I've heard that the FIA constitution may allow Max to hold on to the Presidency for a time even after he loses the vote of confidence coming up.

It's what I've heard at least.

Someone with presumably more intimate knowledge of the FIA or someone who had heard that was the case from an article on another forum.

EDIT: The puppet master has tired of the antics of his puppet.

Bernie the Boss: "If he wants me to be the enemy he should be very careful because if he makes me an enemy I could make sure that he never whips anybody again."

I don't think Mr. Eccelstone is someone to be trifled with, and if Max has overstepped his bounds with Berine, I think Bernie is the type of person that has sufficient influence in the sport - even though he is not in the FIA - to get rid of this pest.

Actually, I do recall reading/hearing that technically there is nothing that says that a vote of no confidence means that he MUST resign. However, it would be farcical in the extreme for him to try and continue under those circumstances. Not even Max is power hungry enough to attempt that.

In other news, I was wondering how long it would be before Christian Sylt rolled out this little gem from his past - pitpass - the latest, hottest F1, GP2, GP2 Asia & A1GP news

That article was one of the most damning indictments of Max's position as president. I didn't think there would be anything as bad as that still left to see the light of day, but if Pitpass is right, and there are even bigger skeletons waiting to fall out of the closet, then it's certainly going to be an interesting week or two...
