Motorsport heroes
Interesting to hear your opinion on who they are. I don't know rallying and some other racing history quite well, but from the top of the classes, say the GP racing and Formula-1, I'd name Tazio Nuvolari and Alessandro Zanardi. Those two men just impressed me the most with their strong will.

Nuvolari, Villeneuve, Clark, Rosemeyer, Fangio, Moss and in that order.

Hamilton somewhere, somehow!?
But persons like Frank Williams and Jean Todt is also heros! But Jacky Ickx and Tom Kristensen are probably some of the biggest hero's in Sportscars! In Rally, Stig Blomqvist, Ari Vatanen and Colin Mcrae.

Oliver Gendebein is my favorite because he was in the resistance during the war, he was a true gentleman and he won a lot of GT races for Ferrari Followed by (in no particular order): Jim Clark, Phil Hill and Luigi Chinetti.

 I didn't mean to discudd who is (was) the best driver or your favourite driver, just wanted to know who do you think is (was) a MAN in racing.
