Interesting to hear your opinion on who they are. I don't know rallying and some other racing history quite well, but from the top of the classes, say the GP racing and Formula-1, I'd name Tazio Nuvolari and Alessandro Zanardi. Those two men just impressed me the most with their strong will.

Nuvolari, Villeneuve, Clark, Rosemeyer, Fangio, Moss and in that order.

...and Senna.

He was unlike-able, but a freak (especially in the rain).

...and the only one I was able to witness drive.

Well Stewart, Senna and Schumacher are probably next on the list.

Hamilton somewhere, somehow!?
But persons like Frank Williams and Jean Todt is also heros!
But Jacky Ickx and Tom Kristensen are probably some of the biggest hero's in Sportscars!
In Rally, Stig Blomqvist, Ari Vatanen and Colin Mcrae.

Mika Hakkinen, came back after serious head injury in Adelaide 1995 and won F1 championships 1998 and 99. Zanardi is also one of my heroes, he is so positive person.

Oliver Gendebein is my favorite because he was in the resistance during the war, he was a true gentleman and he won a lot of GT races for Ferrari Followed by (in no particular order): Jim Clark, Phil Hill and Luigi Chinetti.

Some of you got me wrong here I didn't mean to discudd who is (was) the best driver or your favourite driver, just wanted to know who do you think is (was) a MAN in racing.

Anyone from the beggining to the 50's in my opinion. After that the sport became intoxicated too much with money and marketing.

Jimmy Clarke. A real man's man from what i've heard - shame i never got to see the legend race.

Senna was a true great, getting out of his car to help others, then getting back in and finishing the face (how is he not like-able?). Only seem replays of his races, but have heard great stories.

Felipe Mass-just kidding.

Well, as you mentioned this, I'll add David Purley for Zandvoort '73.

excuse me? all of these, apart from rally drivers (so maybe including todt somehow) are cissies. as nigel mansell once said, hamilton wouldn't bear one lap with drivers of his times.

i call rosemeyer - a true flamboyant racer - the only man that could laugh in the face of nazis, Nuvolari, Juan Manuel Fangio, Villenueve and James Hunt
