DTM anyone?
I've watched Mugello race yesterday, was quite interesting. Seems like Ralfi can't go well down there. And British drivers did well on their Mercedes'es. Though I didn't get how is the 'unfair' play allowed there - it's not even covered. Just those who drive last year's cars let the works drivers go ahead and stupidly hold their opponents behind...
It was said BTW that Citroen plans to close their WRC program and enter DTM since 2010, more possible together with Lexus...

Yes DTM has great potential, but the lack of opposition has made for a weird situation. It's basically two 10 car teams racing each other. I shot a race last year where the first and third placed Audis each yielded their position in the very last corner. That's worse than Schumacher on his best day. Also they need to get rid of that tacky bodykit.
Edit: Here is my article http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/event...Zandvoort.html

Ah..and yes, the competition was rather strong and it was great to watch. Add some 'big names' here like Kristensen, Rockenfeller, Albers etc.

They are the fastest touring cars in the world, close and exciting racing.
Don't get rid of the bodykits! |

The problem is that the bodykits prevent close racing. One small bump is enough to send shreds of carbon flying about. As a result these cars look like they have gone through a 24 hours race after just 60 minutes.

It is a non contact sport and also the bodykits are used to create substanial downforce - making the DTM the fastest touring cars.
It does not prevent close racing, it prevents contact. When did anyone go to see a race for a crash? |

Have you seen a DTM race? There is contact in almost every lap, leaving most cars battered and bruised at the end of the race.
