The 2008 American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix

This weekend (July 11-12th), the American Le Mans Series will spring back to action after a two-month break. The biggest news is no doubt the replacement of Frank Biela by fresh Le Mans winner Dindo Capello. A much bigger surprise was the change of drivers at Andretti Green Racing.

Dyson Racing will sport a special livery to commemorate their 25th anniversary in racing. The RS Spyders will be painted in the same way as their successful Porsche 962.

FYI, according one of my friend who now works for a company who does testing and simulation work for AGR's ALMS program, they are like spending 2-3 times their original budget was, and is in big financial hole as far as that program is concern.....and if they are not delivering results then I am sure someone is pretty pissed and keep kicking drivers out....

AGR is busy with a 4 car IndyCar Series effort and also competes in Firestone Indy Lights. No other Acura LMP2 team competes in the IndyCar Series.

Yeah, but AGR is very much the "official" Acura team. They've got the most support from Acura.

Lime Rock blows and needs to be dropped from any series except small displacement cars IMO.

Lap times will be about 40 seconds for the P1's. Ridiculous.

According to the same guy, AGR is pretty much funding their LMP2 program out of their own pocket and Acura although providing some technical assistance, gives very little funding out to them. Which is part of the reason why they are in the hole.....

I heard that de Ferran's ARX had an upgraded motor last race and that is part of the reason why they flew through the field. When are the other Acura teams getting this upgraded engine if ever?

That would be out of character for the new HPD. de Ferran and Pagenaud drove their balls off, and they had a baseline setup from Acura they perfected in two private tests at Utah before the event. They did their homework to earn the result.
