What's your favourite BTCC car?
2009 BTCC races have been interesting in the extreme. Big grids and many different cars ranging from brand new to practically ancient. Which cars are best to watch and why?

Thanks for your contribution but I really meant cars of the last 10-12 years. Basically Supertouring, BTC and S2000 formula cars.

I always drove the Renault Laguna whenever I could. So it was that, followed by the unbeatable Vauxhall Astra Coupé.

Astra Coupe was once unbeatable but certainly not any more. I was at the Knockhill rounds this year and Martin Johnson's Astra Coupe and John George's Honda Integra were 2 seconds a lap off the pace of the field. However unlike most other motorsports, the BTCC cars are faster, more exciting and louder than ever before. Hmm... we'll see how much longer that lasts.

Always love BMW, but I did love the 4WD Audi A4s Biela dominated in 96-97 before they were banned.

The Integras are still being raced. Not just raced, but also proving competitive against far newer designs. The integra has been made since 1996 and is still going strong. This is a testament to how great the Integra was. I walked into a Honda showroom back in 1996 as a 4 year old and saw the brand new integra in all it's glory. I knew it looked sensational but didn't expect it to survive for so long.

I drive an 08 Astra 1.8 SRI so I would be pushing that for the best. But, purely for the best looking I would have to go for the old Peugeot 406. In Gold and Green it looked good but looked even better in the German Touring Cars with the Yellow and Red Hasseroder colour scheme.

The touring cars will always put a smile on your face no matter what kind of racing you are used to watching. The close, door rubbing, nose banging racing and sensational cars are what it's all about. F1 cars look absolutely ridiculous with those high and narrow rear wings, bid silly noses and so on. The FIA should have left the rules the same, or even better... do away with them all completely. Still, touring cars and rally cars are the best for some real adrenalin thrills.
