a drivers 9 year journey to the world championship by winning 6 races and getting clear by the penultimate event of the season is a stale ending? Either some members here dont appreciate a good racing driver or his nationality is an issue. I remember it played a big part in lewis's winning last year too. Sour grapes.

Button shoed some good action today, even if he seemed to be fine after he entered the points. Comprehensible, given he was racing for the big W this time.
Surely not his best race, but not the worst either, and by far.

Shame for Barrichello, he probably had a bad set of tires during the second stint, even if honestly failed to gain enough distance on Webber during the first stint.
The final puncture was definitely the proof that circuit doesn't like him.

^^ Rubens puncture coming right after Hamilton lost an end plate on his front wing during his overtake maneouvre. Clearly Lewis sliced the tyre !!

Methinks the English will be getting lynched by the Brazilians tonight

Button has done nothing since round 7 when his car was still dominate,,,he isn't a good racing driver IMO....and it has nothing to do with nationality...that's just silly.

He's always been overrated and overhyped...not his fault but still he was extremely lucky yet still nearly managed to blow his huge lead.

Did you actually watch the race? He pulled off some sterling moves while young Vettel was stuck behind the exact same cars even though he had a faster car.

Which driver do you think deserved this year's title then?

Hamilton hit the rear left wheel, while the puncture seemingly happened to the front right. Anyway, congratulations to Button for winning the title - whatever one could say, he deserved it this year. A disappointing race for Barrichelo, though - I think this year was his last chance to have a WDC.

Hey, I gave him credit for passing the rookie...and yes he was aggressive...finally driving like someone worthy. But overall he is not deserving..there are other drivers who drove better with lesser equipment.

Almost any other driver deserved a title other than him....Button was slowly pissing it away.

Wow..by the way, completely forgot to point everyone's attention at Kobayashi's race. One may remember what was my opinion about Japanese F1 drivers, but this guy proved me to be wrong. We'll see.

The punctured tire was the rear left, the one that Hamilton touched.

He said something about the front right tyre half a lap before he had a contact with Lewis, I thought that was a puncture coming. Why are you sure it was that wheel? I could have missed something, though.

You could see the left rear tyre wobbling when he came to his pit stall for the change.

No more questions then - I just didn't notice that.

That true, but Barrichello already had some tires problems, so probably he would have to pit in regardless of Hamilton's move.

Apart from the Nakajima affair, he did a wonderful race for a rookie with a Toyota (even if Trulli proved the car was feeling at home today).

So far I'd give him the seat for next season if I was Toyota, consider he has to be at least a good tester to get the chance to race today, so this race shouldn't be just a random episode.

IIRC he already pitted twice and didn't have to stop anymore. Altough to be fair to Button even with Rubens' unwanted third pit stop he would have clinched the title matemathically as well.

Of course, what I meant is that Barrichello called the team saying he had problems with his tires, and indeed he was at least one second slower than all the other cars, so even without the small contact with Hamilton, he would have probably forced to pit again or at least to slow down a lot.
Yes, Button would have won the title nonetheless, it's just a pity how much bad luck the Brazilian always has in his own track.
