Hell even Greg Crick or mathew wight or someone would do good....the kelleys are pretty good at what they do but i think one of them has some growing up to do....

That mightve been the Queensland 500 in 2002 actually when David Besnard and Simon Wills won it. The year Ford only won 2 rounds and even then it was SBR who done it; Besnard in Queensland, Ambrose at the Sandown sprint round

Lowndes has crashed at Bathurst - in 1997 while lying in 2nd. It wasn't that servere though. Did cost Lowndes/Murphy the chance to win two years running though.

Skaife's HRT Commodore VT went off the road in the Chase in 1998 thanks to a puncture. And Bargwanna whacked the wall really hard at Forest Elbow at Bathurst in 1998 in the morning warmup in the HRT Young Lions car. But no HRT has speared off into the trees...

Perhaps you're thinking of the famous footage of a green Ford Falcon with the number 17 on the side clipping a tyre barrier at Forest Elbow on the run into Conrod and spearing into the trees at high speed. The year was 1983, it was the top 10 shootout and the driver was Dick Johnson. There is now a wall in that spot preventing drivers from running into the trees. That accident was one of the worst in the pre V8 Supercar days. Johnson was lucky to walk away from that.

Well, I'm unaware of any HRT VT crashing into the trees at Bathurst or elsewhere. Must have dozed off at that point - or (shock...) my memory is not as good as I thought. Maybe Falc will remember?

Maybe im just getting the story screwed up somewhat

Im sure that when they updated the pits in 1985 for Group A, it'd be around then that they stuck the concrete walls around the place, it was only a couple of years before that Dick Johnson had his issues with what you were talkign about before....

Either way, concrete'd be a pretty hard thing to break through

Points system updated: http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum...d=1#post158022

Ambrose practically has it wound up, he'll be going into Launceston with about a round and a half's worth of points in the bag ahead of Murphy
