who knows anything about this car
This is a Valiant P3, which appeared at a Supersport Race in Zandvoort, Holland in 1987. As year of build was given 1968, and it had a 1600 cc engine which did not want to run properly during the weekend making the car terribly slow. It was run by a German driver. I assume that it named P3 because of its resemblence to the Ferrari P3. Nowhere on the holy web I can find any info on this car.

I made a mistake, the thing is actually called a Vanguard P3, (I quoted from my memory, Mr. alzheimer), but it still remains an unknown quantity.

news .. don;t know if it is any good ... but i say check it out
a membet of ten-tenths said this "It looks similiar to a Causy P3 that was made in either Illinois or Indiana in the middle 1960's. Apparently 2 were made. 1 is still in the US and I have seen the 2nd 1 for sale on a German website. Could this be the car you have pictured. If I remember the 1 for sale was white."

Thanks, might be a clue, but I would be surprised if the Amercans would use a 1600 cc engine.
I investigated further and noted that at that particular race in 1987 the car was entered by a German called Helmut Reuscher. I found out that he is still involved in historic racing activities, and subsequently sent him an email asking for further info and made a reference to this site, but up to now he has not responded. Anybody here with connections to Helmut Reuscher?? |
