who knows anything about this car

This is a Valiant P3, which appeared at a Supersport Race in Zandvoort, Holland in 1987. As year of build was given 1968, and it had a 1600 cc engine which did not want to run properly during the weekend making the car terribly slow. It was run by a German driver. I assume that it named P3 because of its resemblence to the Ferrari P3. Nowhere on the holy web I can find any info on this car.

I made a mistake, the thing is actually called a Vanguard P3, (I quoted from my memory, Mr. alzheimer), but it still remains an unknown quantity.

Well, it did not matter if I searched for Valiant or Vanguard, the web gave zilch info, so I am really dependent on what comes out of this request.

news .. don;t know if it is any good ... but i say check it out

a membet of ten-tenths said this

"It looks similiar to a Causy P3 that was made in either Illinois or Indiana in the middle 1960's. Apparently 2 were made. 1 is still in the US and I have seen the 2nd 1 for sale on a German website. Could this be the car you have pictured. If I remember the 1 for sale was white."

Thanks, might be a clue, but I would be surprised if the Amercans would use a 1600 cc engine.

I investigated further and noted that at that particular race in 1987 the car was entered by a German called Helmut Reuscher. I found out that he is still involved in historic racing activities, and subsequently sent him an email asking for further info and made a reference to this site, but up to now he has not responded.

Anybody here with connections to Helmut Reuscher??

Well that solves it, the link you give leads directly to Helmut Reuscher, whom I mentioned previously. Still no idea why in the race I saw it participating it was listed as a Vanguard P3. Probably the organisers hadn't a clue either.

Thanks guys for all the efforts.
