absolutely...you should see it now, the suspension is in and the wheels are on...just the chassis itself is gorgeous.

HP should be around 300...the v8 should be good for that, and any more would blow the 914 transaxle....

on my guess, the weight should be around 1800 lbs...that's a guess, but it's an all fiberglass body with minimal interior and no amenities...no ac, no P/S no PW etc., although it does have a 5.7 liter v8...

we'll see when it's finished....any idea on a decent way to weigh it?

how about suggestions for paint? i was originally sold on gunmetal/silver with black racing stripes...but i'm leaning towards the red seen on the fia 550 gt ferrari. It's going to have black alloys, that's for sure. i was thinking a carbon spoiler for the back end...again it's all up in the air.

Chevy 350 and a 914 Transaxle? This sounds surprisingly much like the Renegade Hybrids 914... Are you using any of their components?

As far as colour goes, I'd have to opt for a very very dark metallic blue. I think it would flow nicely with the lines of the car.

It's nice to have a fellow car builder (or restorer) online. Keep us updated, and keep up the good work! Here's mine: http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum...=&threadid=152

    good choice on that 914...

no, i'll probably stick to kennedy...it just seems cheaper, renegade seems to want more for their kit....maybe more shtuff is included, but i'm not sure i need it or it would fit...since it's not actually a 914, i may need a custom radiator, etc.

KenEng is about 1k for plate, clutch, HP starter and the bearings...

    1500 sunk in the car,
    150 sunk in the engine!!!,
100 bucks in some wheels.....that's pretty much it so far....all US.

It was my dream to own a midengined high power good-looking car....so far it's coming true....knock on wood...

ps what do you think i should do with the valve covers? i just repainted the whole engine satin black, and I was kind of thinking doing the same or gloss black for the valve covers, as they are covered in rust, and i kind of like that whole "stealth" look. The intake would probably remain silver, and the filter could be either. My father wants me to leave them chrome, like the timing chain cover was, but i think the rust is uglier than black, and i don't think it'll come off easily.

I think it would be awesome to paint the valve covers to match the exterior of the car Of course, now you have to pick that as well...

I spy a lot of 914 parts on that car! Namely the rear control arm/rear disc brakes and the speedometer! Our cars have a lot in common, except that yours will be a lot faster!

    Keep me updated
