    Joe's Ford GT update

Just got the latest issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords. It has a 4 page special on Joe's GT. I'm sure most people remember the IMV films video where they were installing the twin turbo setup and attained 1012rwhp, well in the article they have installed the new 5.4 motor and turbos and have gotten 1181rwhp and 1068lb/ft! Joe says he's going to put on bigger turbos (GT4067's)soon capable of 750hp a piece and if they're not enough, maybe some even bigger ones(GT42's). The guys at HP performance and Stage 6 motorsports say that 1500hp is fast approaching. Some exotics Joe has had in the past include a Lamborghini VT roadster, a Kleeman SL65 and a Lotus Esprit twin turbo. When asked what will come after the Ford Joe said "How do you top this?"

I thought it was the handling that needed improvement?

They've actually gotten more than that out of it... this is the last I've heard:

    http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...d.php?t=339286

    1453hp / 1251lbs-ft (at the wheels)

By now, the larger GT42R turbos will be on, but I haven't heard of any updates since this one.

You'd think, after the first drag strip incident, that they would concentrate on finding some grip instead of adding more power!

Stock top speed is 212mph with 535rwhp, triple the wheel horsepower and we probably get to 240mph maybe 250?

Not to mention the aerodynamics. Yes, it may be stable up to 211 mph, but if you get any turbulence anywhere above 211, it's not like they can go back and fix that, because they'll be too busy attending their own funeral.

800hp I thought was acceptable. Anything above that is very pointless, because the time you make up on straights you lose at the start line and on corners (and maybe even at gear-changes, or in a hedge).

Seriously, who cares if it's not great as a track car anymore. This is a case of, we could, so we did.

Im pretty sure sixth gear runs out at high 240's low 250's and yes it makes enough power to pull up there. Big Al from Boss 330 racing built the engine and heads. I think there is still more room to go on the heads and I know theres more room to go on the cam.

I bet they don't get half of that to the ground.

In third gear they get all 1452rwhp to the ground with no wheel spin.
