They are cool, I've gotten rides in a '59 el camino and a '69. Sweet rides, they sound awesome too.

excuse me for being bland, but im an american car hater and the only way this car would appeal to me is if the back was loaded up with explosives on top gear and Baddabang used it for his avatar

the real question is what kind of car is el camino, a sports car or a pick-up?
if the answer is both what do people use it for?

I agree, they're nice cars, and powerful as well. Americans really had their engines downpat in the old days, I'll give them that.

Isn't the El Camino from the "big, powerful, who-gives-a-****-about-handling-and-gas-consumption" era? There's a lot of nice cars from that era but you'd never get me to drive one.

my dad's freind restores muscle cars and his engine builder had an el camino tow car with 700hp and over 1000 with nitrous, he said he can be doing 70 on the freeway and floor it and do a wheelie....
He came dancing across the water
    With his galleons and guns
    Looking for the new world
In that palace in the sun
    On the shore lay Montezuma
With his cocoa leaves and pearls

Didn't Ford make some kind of equivelant to it?
Anyways, Hyde on that 70's Show drives one, and I love 'em. Love to drive mine on MC3.

Beautiful car. Or truck, your pick.
