Fiat Abarth 850 Coupe Allemano "Scorpione"
Although it was based on the Fiat 600 floorpan, the Abarth "Scorpione" looked like a "million dollar baby" thanks to it's elegantly shaped body. The design from Michelloti and adapted by Allemano, was presented at the Frankfurt in 1959. With a longitudinaly mounted engione of 833cc (847 on the later S version) and a Weber carburator, the Allemano "Scorpione" had an output of 52 bhp (and 57 for the S). That, allied to the light body, allowed this very rare car to reach 160km/h.

Good point, sorry! 59 to 61. Then the S version came to it's place with 57 bhp.

Some of these were also exported to Argentina and re-labeled as Cisitalia's.

The front looks rather Alfa Romeo-ish.

That's because the Abarth shield has a proeminent position on this model's nose. And it's shape is in fact similar to Alfa's. If it wasn't for the rear engine and reduced size, the elegant shape could also lead to think it's an Alfa.

Nice. Are there any photos we can see?
A modestly powered european car in US, is an uncommon, if not unpopular choice. You must have good taste. Welcome to UCP.

Abarth 850 Allemano
Sorry no pictures. There was an Abarth importer in Evanston Il in the 60's.
Zagato double bubbles were fairly common, probably 20 to 30 in the area. The importer campaigned a 1000 TC. I bought the Allemano used for $5000. I had my choice of it or a Porsche RSK for the same price. I never saw another 850 Allemano. Ed |

Thanks "McReis." I've alwaysed loved this little car, and it can be very hard to find pictures of one on the Net. Allemano were producing some of the best looking cars in the world at the time, and I think this that along with their version of the Maserati 5000GT, and the ATS 2500GT, this little gem is one of them.
I'll take mine with the 850 Bialbero motor, disks, and front wishbone conversion please... Christmas is coming!
