fuel injection?

i was talking to the guy who teaches auto shop at my school, we have a crapy course and shop, but he said that all cars now have direct port fuel injection. i did not no that if it is true. can someone clue me in

my understanding of direct port fuel injection is the injectors are positioned just behind the intake valves......going by that theres still plenty of new cars still running just a multipoint setup especially around here
