CLK DTM vs. SLR AMG

CLK DTM:
Engine: 90º V8, supercharged
Engine Location: Front, longitudinally mounted
Displacement: 5.439 liter
Fuel feed: Fuel injection
Gearbox: Speedshift 5 speed Automatic
Power: 582 bhp / 434 KW @ 6100 rpm
Torque: 800 Nm / 590 ft lbs @ 3500 rpm
Power to weight ratio: 0.33 bhp / kg
Top Speed: 320 km/h / 199 mph (limited)
0-60 mph Acceleration: 4.1 s
Price: 260.266 €

SLR AMG:
Engine: 90º V8, supercharged
Engine Location: Front , longitudinally mounted
Displacement: 5.439 liter
Fuel feed: Fuel injection
Gearbox: 5 speed Automatic
Power: 626 bhp / 467 KW @ 6500 rpm
Torque: 780 Nm / 575 ft lbs @ 3250 rpm
Power to weight ratio: 0.35 bhp / kg
Top Speed: 334 km/h / 208 mph (claimed)
0-60 mph Acceleration: 3.8 s (claimed)
Price: 452.573 €

Basicaly both cars have the same engine.
Both are rear wheel drive of course...

I'd go for the CLK DTM.
It's more a race car then the SLR
And it's even more seldom then the SLR.

SLR for me. I prefer luxury- I'm into all the luxurious, fast cars. (i.e., RS6, Jaguar XJR, BMW M3)

it's still an automatic, and I'm pretty sure the CLK DTM could take on the SLR on most tracks, since the SLR weighs nearly 4000 pounds. I'm not gonna get one of these cars and not race it.

So is the dtm.. it weighs almost 4000 as well.

SLR all the way.. i prefer the mclaren chassis
luxury.. that red leather kills me.. its more pleasant to look a.. especially with that formula 1 style grille... the slr brakes turn red when you use them alot.. it has that little neat backwing trademark of mclaren.

You should watch this car perform in that top gear video its incredible.. its braking capacity is tremendous. It will break from 100 mph to 0 in a distance where a car is supposed to break from 60 to 0.. amazing..

In fact the CLK DTM is 124kg heavier than the SLR.

The brakes bite like hell. You will have some problems using them for your
everyday rides.
Rowan Atkinson drove the SLR a hole day to check out the performance as
"everyday car".
His comment about the brakes was:
"You press a little, nothing happens. You press harder, nothing happens. Press harder and Ooof! the brakes come on with a vengeance."
Same if you want to release the brakes

Comfortable spacious GT, or a heavier, slower "race" car with an auto box.

SLR please.

SLR for most of the reasons stated above and because it's 9 MPH faster.

I think i'm gonna have to go with the CLK DTM, becuase they are both very close in performance, and i like the overall apearance of the DTM better, i don't really like the SLR's looks too much.
