The 2,5 litre RMF model was technically still up-to-date but the body could do with some modernisation and hence the Pathfinder model was introduced in 1953. Comparable in shape to the Wolseley 4/44, introduced during the previous year, the body was nevertheless much larger and could seat 5 persons in relative comfort. Although looking much more modern than the RMF, the body and chassis were still separate units.
Enginewise, all remained the same as well, and the 2.5 litre four cylinder engine produced 103 bhp, just enough to reach a top speed of 155 kph.
In 1954 the new body was also available as the Wolseley 6/90.
Production of the Pathfinder only lasted 4 years, and in total 5152 cars were completed.
Shown is a 1955 model, that appeared during the Concours d’Elegance at Palace Het Loo in 2006.
