Displacement is sort of irrelevant, and an AWD system weights quite more than a cylinder.

Truth is I was expecting both to be considerably lighter, especially the 1M.
And it just doesn't seem that special.

The 1M is pretty damn awesome, especially since it's ridiculously easy to get more power out of the old twin-turbo motor.

It's not the old twin turbo engine, rather the new "twinpower" turbocharged engine, with a twin scroll turbine (code N55).

mmm... forgot the N54 also got direct injection
BMW isn't helping retroactively fitting the "twinpower" moniker to all engines...
