From the angle I shot that pic, it looks like the VW is actually slightly longer than the Boxster too. And I've looked inside the interior of the Ghia, it has a Porsche steering wooden wheel. ![]() I'm a bit fan of Porsches, I actually like this generation of Boxster very much, especially the Spyder, which looks like a mini Carrera GT. |

On my way back to school I saw a couple 997 911s, I think one of them was a Turbo cabriolet.
More interesting cars were seen though- I saw an old Fiat 500 and a Peugeot 504 wagon- both of them were in awesome condition too. |

I saw an Isuzu Pup pickup truck the other day in the parking garage.
Probably the oldest Isuzu vehicle I've ever seen. |

Saw a Karmann-Ghia convertible (the original nice curvy one, not the later type) this morning on the way to work. Beige with a light brown top. The top was up, which was not surprising, as it was bloody cold......
Saw a split screen Kombi yesterday, dark blue and white. |

![]() Did you spot the 308 hiding among the ZL1s and ZR1s in the parking lot?

The 308 was there a few years now... Toronto team did horrible, the car is not really done. BUT at least they showed up....unlike 2 years ago... My friends at work from UofM certainly were happy, they finished 5th... Some cars are crazy looking, others not so much.... Best finishing Canadian team is ETS of Montreal, I think they are 8th or something. European teams with year old car all did pretty good, though the winning team(Oregon State/Ravensberg Global Formula Racing) is a new car, and IIRC their 3rd win in a row. Pretty astonishing... No pictures, now that I am not doing FSAE and Toronto didn't run Enduro, I didn't bother to use my camera...

RPI..
We did okay, but we really should have done better. I'll be Aero lead next year, so if our cars looks strange then, it's my fault. I visited the Toronto pit briefly because our hexcell carbon supplier no longer makes them and someone on our team remembered that Toronto ran them a few years ago. According to the kids I talked to in Toronto's pit, they haven't for a few years, though. Aside from that five-minute exchange I didn't interact with them at all.

They went to full monocoque in 2008 and 2009, then 2010 was a dud, and 2011 and on they went to full tubeframe again. 2007 and before we have cars similar to yours with "hybrid" monocoque with stressed panels and tube frame. One of the guy who used to work at my work now was alumni from RPI FSAE, I believe his year was the first year they ran that type of frame. We never got around to run aero....really too many other stuff to focus on and getting the car done was always a priority.... Where did you guys finish this year?

I'm not sure what our final place was. Our car wouldn't hot start for the second endurance stint, so we got pissed and left.
Our skidpad was pretty average, autocross was ok with a 60 sec lap (goddamn that was an aero course!) , we got a 4.139(2nd) in accel but we were robbed of that because our driver hit a cone after he finished his run on the way back so we got our next best time (9th 4.3something), in endurance we ran sub-60 sec laps 7/10 laps in the first stint and then our car wouldn't restart for the second half. EDIT: I'll be sure to get in touch with you as soon as I'm done with finals, so by the end of this week or so. Thanks in advance!
