This is going to sound fake.
So just driving around for work I saw these cars yesterday: a Turbo S 918 Spyder Edition (on Browns Line of all places - got a photo on my crappy phone), a Mitsubishi 3000GT (rare here), two late 80s/early 90s Rollers (at dealers), a first gen Buick Riviera, a Lotus Elise on the Gardiner, a DB7 at a dealer, a first gen Camaro SS, a TR6, and a Gallardo LP560 beside an Etobicoke ice cream institution... and these today: MG X 2, a Tesla Roadster, a QP (also common enough), a Continental (litter in Toronto), an SLS, an SLS Roadster (seen quite a few SLSs) a few cars back of a Vantage Roadster on the Gardiner, a new M6, and the glimpse of the back of a modern Aston I could not ID as they all look alike. Recession? Some in Toronto seem to be doing rather well for themselves. EDIT: An SL 65 I am very sure today as well... Could have been a 55, but I think I caught 65 on the badge. Those are very rare - 55s are around, but I have only seen maybe 5 65s in my life. Last edited by Kitdy; 05-24-2012 at 06:48 PM. |

Totally fake. Everyone knows Gallardo owners only eat gelato.

To be fair, the driver did not stop at said location.
They drove past it and their loud exhausts reverberated down the street. There is another Etobicoke (bonus points for correctly pronouncing my hometown's name) culinary institution across the street that is an Italian restaurant however. The Lamborghini driver continued onward though, probably to from whence it came (Yorkville). |

Many years back I saw a Lamborghini LM002 just chilling on a street in Manhattan.
Probably one of the rarer cars I've ever seen. |

You say that, but an Aston dealer is right down the street, and there are plenty of people who still drive really expensive cars here....
Rich people are still bloody rich in Michigan...

I once saw a near new Lamborghini (don't ask me what model, as I don't know how to tell one from another) in Abbotsford in Sydney's inner west, with a two tone late 1950s Wolseley parked directly behind it, pointy tailfins and all. It was a slightly surreal scene.....

I saw what must have been an imported Fiat Coupe at a dealership; I seem to recall having seen one before, but that was probably in Scotland. 2X R8, 2X G Wagen, including one what was blinged out with bright orange stripes. Also, a typically sublime Duc Sport Classic.
As I mentioned in the other thread, I also dropped by the Collector's Studio again, this time with a friend. The 1948 Targa Florio trohpy is still listed for sale as it has been for several years at 75 grand. A small selection of highlites include: Enzo's Ferrari's suit, a lot of beautiful race worn gear - a Jack Brabham helmet, Jim Clark Gulf race suit, a Universal watch worn by Tazio Nuvolari, and Tag Heuer 6000 owned by Ayrton Senna both listed at 55k CAD, as well as tons of other F1 paraphernalia, beautiful posters and original artwork, and some breathtaking (and breathtakingly expensive) large scale models. I recommend any car/racing enthusiast visit this place if they are in the GTA. Last edited by Kitdy; 05-28-2012 at 02:40 PM. |

TO seems to have a lot of GT-Rs, R8s, and SLSs speaking specifically in the exotics arena. |

Where I see most of the exotic/old stuff is typically between south Etobicoke (the Kingsway et al) and the downtown core; on the Gardiner, Queensway, and when I am doing deliveries downtown pretty much everywhere. On the 427 and 401 some nice stuff passes in the opposing lanes from time to time. There are also a few exotic dealers and many car repairs shops around the Queensway and in between Kipling and Islington south of Bloor. An Ur-Quattro is currently in the big Car Repair Area as my friend and I just dubbed it in that quadrant bound by Bloor/Dundas, Kipling, Islington, and the Queensway. Caliber and GTA Autos are nearby there too. Sorry for all the local TO talk others. If you keep your eyes open, have good peripheral vision, and can spot the shapes/headlights form a distance with of the corner of your eye, you can catch a crapload of pricey stuff there. Not sure I have seen an Abarth yet, but there are flocks of 500s. A Pantera is a nice sight; and a better sound. |
