Taht kind of was my point Pieter. They leave the "Privateers" to do the work adn build the knowledge while Porsche concentrate of hte likes of the Cayenne ?

( and it was meant in jest, Porsche will always have a heartbeat of motorsport. I just wish they'd embrace it fully before the new generation of marketing in the company forget WHY you do motorsport )

It's also a pretty thinly veiled jab at Ferrari.

How many Porsches will you see at a club track day compared to Ferraris?

Ferrari has an F1 team, and they have a preferential team racing in the GT classes (AF Corse) so they are not that loosley involved as Porsche is at the moment.

Lots.

Porsches far outnumber Ferraris at open track days here, and at the respective club days there are normally more Porsches in attendance, and they are driven harder - on average.

On the other hand, Ferrari was basically born out of a race team, so probably has stronger roots in racing than Porsche. It's much more a Lambo/Audi jab than Ferrari.

I don't think tis referencing anyone, (almost) no car from any other manufacturer can be seen at all. It's just a good ad about Porsche.

I think you may be reading too much into it.

And I'd say that the hybrid 911 GT3 is a full on works effort, isn't it?

So many Lancias...

I kind of wanted more on the Subaru, but hey, I'm definitely okay with what he had.

Volkswagen Beetle in Antartica.

I wonder what happened to it eventually.

And I'm also curious- I thought you couldn't stake Antarctica for any country in a sense sort of like the open seas, it doesn't belong to any one country.

I believe it's kinda carved into chunks that various countrys 'have'. Much as this article by some teenagers suggests.

Thanks.

Harry Metcalfe goes to the Mille Miglia in an Alfa Romeo. And gets into traffic jams worth millions.

I'm curious, what's the shift pattern on the Alfa?

This is why we hero worship Ayrton Senna almost twenty years later...

...and this is why some of us don't.
