Top Gear didn't supply the photo, a company called Pictor/Uniphoto did. And as far as I know they're now defunct, so I couldn't even ask them if I wanted to.

Why not? No harm in trying

Again, no question that the car on the back is a C4 Corvette. You can see it in the mirrors, the sealed beam lights and the marker lights under the headlights. The side is likely a C4 as well. Look at the B pillar and door opening.

Here's a little thought I had about those arches, the C4 Grand Sport had arch extensions and also the non round lights that the ZR-1 had. That would just leave adding a bootlid spoiler (possibly by Greenwood, see second photo).

I found this on GumTree about 3 days ago, the listing claims that it is a "rare Callaway bodykit" ('84 Corvette). Certainly bears some striking resemblences.

I have been trying to identify this car for weeks without any luck, looking through different search engines and finding cars with similarities, but don't quite match the picture. I asked on Yahoo Answers, and kept getting Honda NSX as an answer, but I don't think it looks anything like a honda NSX, though it does look Japanese.
The pictures are from an old Top Gear music compilation released in 1994, one is the original picture, in the other I have pointed out some features which I will list below:

1) Some sort of "arch" which is connected to the back window (well that's what it looks like to me).
2) This looks like the rear light, and is a circle shape.
3) The wingmirror, it is attached to the door, and seems to be oval shaped.
4) A "depression" in the rear arch. The car would seem to be a Widebody.

Please remember this is from 1994.

I have a scanner but it's in the attic, if anyone requires a clearer photo, I should be able to provide one.
Thanks for any help.
I am nt pretty sure about this but it looks like a RX-7...

I was thinking FD RX7 as well, maybe with an aftermarket bodykit, which would explain the flares on the wheel wells.

B and C pillars don't really look like RX/7 to me, nor NSX
