    coming events

Been too long between drinks. Since my SV8 had to make way for an earth destroying 4x4 upgrade. Been driving my Landcruiser for 5 years (with a brief uninspiring lapse into a Mazda 6 company car) and its time to go Bogan again. One reason is the LC is racking up ks and I don’t want to have to replace that in the too nearer future. The other reason is something a little less expensive to run. Now a LS1 is not an economical choice but it beats 3 tonne of V8 Landcruiser. So the search has begun for a Monaro. Either 2003/4 CV8 or a 2005 CV8Z if I can get a nice one for a good price.
Its now a matter of time……

Landed one of these. CV8 R. 48000ks. The guy used it for a toy basically on weekends. Selling it coz he wants trail bikes and he doesn’t use it. And the missus said new bikes or car.
It’s a bit of a find as the CV8 R is a limited edition and compared to other cars I saw this one is in near new condition. Also many have over 80000ks. Original wheels in perfect condition, no scratches. It has cat back system and an Alpine CD unit with amp and upgraded speakers which are basically the mods I would have done anyway. I will put some extractors and perhaps a cold air induction on it but want to keep it looking pretty original. Should pick it up Friday.

Gold. It has the same motor as my previous SV8 and is basically the same car but prettier and harder to get into the back....
I always turned the traction control off on that other than in the wet as I found you could launch much better with a bit of controlled wheel spin. I seriously have missed that thing since I sold it and I’m now getting quite excited about being reunited with the Chev 350.
I saw a repeat of Top Gear with them thrashing the Vauxhall version around the track basically sideways the whole way. I am a slut for powerful rear wheel drive cars I’m afraid.

Oh how I hate GM for not selling those in LHD countries... Somewhat funny that the car that technically spawned this (the Opel Omega) never received the coupe variant.

My family had a 6.0 GTO briefly, and though it was an auto, it was a lot of fun. Congrats!

I know its more a hatchback but it is two door. I remember we always spewed that Oz never got a Commodore like this.
