Dude, Im well chuffed with that! Was a very hard challenge!! I must thank the team of engineers and..wait.....it was all me! Jokes aside, has been a very enjoyable Season. Must give thanks to Jack who led the way at the start of the season, and top marks for some very fun challenges, which Im finding hard to replicate at the moment!!
By the by, do we want to label the challenges as "GT4 Challenge 2.1" or carry on with the numbers ie "GT4 Challenge 18"... I prefer the 2.1 method
I gotto say, coming up with a challenge is really really hard, you have to make it competitive but fun too, so apologies to everyone if it doesnt quite fit the bill, I try my best!

So on with Season 2!! Best of luck to you all!!!!!

    GT4 Challenge 2.1

    Arcade Mode, Time Trial

Car: Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX Sti Type C '04

    Track: Hong Kong (Normal)

Quicktune: As much quicktune as you like

    Tyres: Sports Soft

    No Driving Aids!!

This challenge will end at midnight on Sunday 4th December.

We've had a lot of powerful rear-wheel drive cars recently, needed a 4WD one I felt. Plus, during the challenge, if anyone has suggestions/requests for tracks/cars/combinations of both, feel free, as I dunno about others, but would make my life a lot easier!!

    Good luck everyone.

I think the names should be Challenge 2.1, 2.2 and so forth.

I'm getting closer to the front guys! (which doesn't mean the lead) I reckon I would have managed the 2/10ths to Dino, but not the whole second that Raza had on me. Oh well, I'll keep on trying...

You know what, apart from the 'Ring, I also feel a double challenge. By that I mean two aggregate times from separate cars on the same track (would need to post both photos)... some people would be better with one than the other, would be quite cool I think...

That could be fun and require lots of strategy. I recommend it for the holidays when everybody has plenty of time (or more than now).

    I'm into 1.28s...

Are we allowed to mix tires? Rules state SS, so I guess anything harder is ok, but do they have to be on four corners or can they be only in the back? I mean the subie's understeer is so annoying that I tried having harder tires in the back. Is that ok?

Edit: Why didn't I think of this for the SLR???

Yes, I agree this will be a good change.

So, the Hong Kong challenge is GT4 Challenge 2.1?

I'm in the 1'27's. I don't think changing rear tire compounds should be legal unless everyone is allowed, it would definitely turn the car better....but also take away some of the challenge in driving it.

Does anyone want a specific compound specified, SH or SM for the rear? Can change the rules if you like...I tried a lap in it to see what kinda time it would roughly be and the skill needed.
The thing is, rear tyre setting is one thing we cant enforce, as there's no way to check it. We just have to believe people, but also purposely pick the highest setting, as normally we use RWD cars for the challenge.

    I´m also at 1.27 now...

Regarding the mixed tire compounds, I was just asking to make sure we are all on the same terms. I don´t think it good to change rules on the go, so I guess we should add a rule stating "all four corners on the same compound" and "tires with less grip than stated might be used, but always observing the previous rule".

As Raza said there is no way to enforce it unless we post two photos: the end of session photo (current) and an end of ghost replay photo (which shows compounds front and rear).

Surely, if all four corners have the same tyre, you cant have some with less grip? Or am I missing something?

In Time Trials I don't think there is a way of just changing the rears. Front and rear get the same compound.

EDIT: Ofcourse there is!! Just not a easy way to verify. Keep it simple with one compound.
