Want to cancel your AOL account??...

Absolutely ridiculous. I'm glad this guy recorded everything and was able to show it on national TV.

I had a similar experience with Bally Total Fitness, but it took me weeks instead of minutes to be able to cancel my wife's account... I hate how big companies play around with this crap.

I had a great laugh but if i was the one cancelling the account I would be annoyed. Anyway, the reaction of the company was even worse, by blaming the operator, when obviously he was following orders.

Apparently they get about the equivalent of an hour's wages for every customer they retain (not much). He was also probably told that he had to read through a script everytime someone wants to cancel. Either way though, that was ridiculous...

That's a cool video. I never knew AOL was so horrible and annoying.

Yeah, saw this video last week... My mom had the same problem and threatened to press charges. I think because of that, they finally gave in.

What an absolute wank. Can't people understand English?

"Cancel my account" to me means cancel the account.

Not "I can give you another reason for staying". Nor "I'm going to be an annoying tit and try and try and force you to stay", either.

I saw that when i was live, pretty funny stuff. My friend tried canceling his account and it took him 30 minutes to do it.
