How about Notepad...?
There is a filter in Office for opening Works files.
Check your installation. If you've a "free" copy of Office you may have some difficulty
You may not have installed it propeerly ..... go do ...........
In the Currently installed programs list, click Microsoft Office 2003 and then click Change.
On the Maintenance Mode Options page, click Add or Remove Features, and then click Next.
On the Custom Setup page, select the Choose advanced customization of applications check box, and then click Next.
On the Advanced Customization page, click the plus sign (+) next to Office Shared Features.
Click the plus sign (+) next to Converters and Filters, and then click the plus sign (+) next to Text Converters.
Click the arrow next to Works for Windows 7.0, and then click Run from My Computer.
The file format converter is installed.

First of all, I'm pretty sure that .wpd is WordPerfect, not Works. Second of all, in Word, just go to Open and then choose wpd in the filetype and find your file. It should be that easy.Originally Posted by Jakg
