I wasn't brought up on just GM. My family has owned many different brands through the years such as: An eagle vista, nissan pickup, ford van, Hyundai Stellar, VW rabbit, Ford Pickup, eagle Premier, Chevy Celebrity, and the Pontiac Parisianne.

Sometimes there are styling elements that I dislike, that can be found among a brand's entire model line. An element of Ford's that I find ugly is the squarish headlamps, and bland styling found on most 80s-90s cars (mustang included)

There are also problems that seem to be brand specific, such as Ford gas tanks exploding (Pinto and today's current Crown Victoria). Dodge and Chevy had their problems, such as head gaskets going, but not exploding gas tanks!

And, IB4R, your point, "I stand for everything, therefore I stand for nothing" proves my point that hating one car brand is a way of expressing yourself. It's prejudicial and discriminatory, but to whom? The CEO's? I don't think that the successful head of Ford is going to be upset about what one person thinks about his company. He'll still be raking in the cash year after year.

And, oh yeah, I still hate Fords

Not only do you alienate yourself from the company, you alienate yourself from people who make like the company.

Your quick to point out it's flaws, but what of it's victories? the ability to get a Mustang, albeit in 3.8 V6 form, for $27,000us seems stunning, the GT40, the New Mustang, the Five Hundred, the Mondeo, the Focus (Europe, not US, they've had far too many recalls)? your precious GM ain't much better, neither is Chrysler, now merely a German off-shoot producing some really horrid product (Neon, anyone?)

To express yourself by dragging others through the mud is not only unconstructive, it's also a bad way of going about things, albeit a very common form of self-gratification nowadays.

And for the record, my being driven career includes a Mitsubishi Magna Wagon, a Mitsubishi Pajero (Shogun/Montero), A Honda City Pro, A Toyota Corolla, a Honda Accord, a BMW 328i and a Jeep Cherokee. I nearly have every continent covered, save for South America, which, funnily enough, is where most of your GM models are made. I read somewhere that Toyota has more U.S. factories now than GM, is this so?

I don't think you understand that my hatred of Ford is tongue-in-cheek. I really don't think their product is garbage. When talking about cars with other people, Talking brand vs. brand is a great way to start a healthy debate, and present your views.

Daimler-Chrysler didn't engineer and design the Neon, Chrysler did. I also like the way Chrysler has taken big chances (Viper, Prowler, 300C, PT Cruiser) I kind of see Ford as going with what they know works, not really taking chances and setting trends. Their way is still successful, they didn't get to be #2 by producing bad product.

When i get worked up, i tend to be a little over-eager.

And even though Chrysler has the Guts to put these cars in production, it seems odd that everytime they do they goo through a good patch, then, when demand has been satisfyed, all hell breaks loose on the books, look at Ford, with the Thunderbird, such a specialised car requires a real audience, not just 5-6000 customers, that doesn't justify the tooling.

Chrysler has depended on fads for sales; that's probably why they've had so much financial problems through the years. Even when people were infatuated with the PT cruiser, they couldn't make them fast enough to satisfy demand, and they suffered because of it, when the fad wore off.

See, I'm with HemiCuda on this. It's a FUN type of rivalry, not a disrespectful or hateful one. Although I'm on the other side! How dare you say bad things about Ford!

Heres where i draw the line i guess. You guys are fine to be rivals, it is just when you become so blinded y your allegiance it affects your mental clarity, a'la "MY CIVIC KICKS A$$~!!!!!". but we've gone off topic, my point was, hate a car, for whatever reasons, but don't be blind and hate an entire brand unjustly.....

BMW 5. Very bad look. Very unskill design. Very bad lights design. Too unneeded futurstic NON ACTUAL, NON SOLID, NON FOR CLASS elements. Look at the new A6 or E Benz. They're really solid businessclass sedans. But this is shit.

    [QUOTE=IBrake4Rainbows]Right.

If you'll Kindly check out the 5 Cars You Hate Most Thread, you'll see people seem to hate Brands more than Actual Cars. Does this mean that their mildly Lazy and Can't pick a car out of a Range off the top of their head, or is it that they are hopelessly biased against the perception of that car brand?

Plymouth Reliant/Dodge Aries: Ugly, anemic, cheap. A salesman car.
Mercury Villager: Worst handling and braking I have ever experienced, even for a minivan.
Cheverolet Cavalier: All flash, no dash. Interior pieces start falling as soon as they leave the lot.
