    The Saleen S7.

Have you noticed that now the 3 year old S7 has gone up in price along with it being faster. When the S7 first came out in 2001 it priced at $395,000 and did the 0-60 in 3.3 secs, and pushed 550HP with a V8.
Our new 2004 S7 however is now worth $430,000! But now it does 0-60 in 2.9 secs. and now pushed 575HP with the V8. The car has gone up $35,000 and squeezes out 25 extra HP. But of course when the performance has been increased, what do you expect. I must say the S7 has had a major improvement now since 3 years ago.

(Note: That the specs were directly from Fast-Autos.net. So far, they have been very accurate)

Wow 0-60 in 2.9 that is ridiculously fast. Are you sure that figure is correct? If it is then i hold the car in one of my highest regards as far as acceleration is the topic. DAMN!

yeah that 2.9 sounds little outrageous

and i highly doubt it is accurate....unless the it was that supercharged saleen s7 that just came out

2.9 may sound fast but Road and Track tested the 2003 model (550 hp) at 3.4 seconds to 60 and if you read the article on Fast-autos.net, it says the Saleen engineers gave the 2004 S7 more power and a shorter 1st gear ratio so quicker accelaration is very possible but I would hesitate to believe 2.9 until I saw it tested by a magazine or reputable third party.

if it really does the job in 2.9 secs. I think that is outrageous, and it even beats the enzo

Well, if you remembered reading, I said that i got it from Fast-Autos and was sure it wasn'y correct. But I can't believe they squeezed 25 more HP.

I can believe there is much more power in that engine. If I am correct, the Saleen S7 utilizes a big block 427 V-8. This is a popular hot rodding engine often see to develop well upwards of 600hp and 600ft lbs of torque. Also, I read the same article and road and track has the enzo winning to 60 by 1/10 of a second. Add much more power and a new gear ratio to the S7, and it is easily believable to me that the S7 could now perhaps school the enzo.

That is possible. Saleen did do some tests in 2002 to see if they squeeze more HP out of the V8, and it looks like they succeeded.

If memory serves, the saleen uses a bored and stroked version of the Cleveland 351 SMALL BLOCK V8. Still an excellent (Ford) engine. Except for the viper, I can't think of a really successful supercar that uses a really big engine. Too much weight, degrades handling and Center of gravity is too high.

The 2001 Saleen S7 does 0-60 in 3.34 and the Enzo does it in 3.28(from Road&Track). So with more horsepower and a shorter gear I think that it could atain this figure quite easily.

Your memory serves you incorrectly, I went and double checked a few times, and it is indeed a 7.0L engine. 7.0=427
