If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

autosport.com - F1 News: Hamilton fastest again in second practice
So little interest in this thread. Is it a sign of the times or does it reflect the current state of F1?
nothing has really happened yet, there was nothing spectacular in practice, so there was nothing to be interested about.
Every year, I faithfully watch quali and the races for the first six or seven rounds before realizing that the reason I gave up on the last season is the same reaon I'll give up on this one. I really really want F1 to be done well and entertaining yet it always seems to fall short.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"
Watch other racing series then. Racing can be good if it's done well - F1 surely isn't the best there is in terms of entertainment.
Bike racing is nice because races are only around and hour and it holds your attention. Ferrer seems to rave about WTCC as well.
I have watched MotoGP before and found that it was surely better than F1, but it still doesn't really pull me in.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"
There's always the Indy 500, lulz.
"Every time I close the door on reality, it comes in through the windows." -- Unknown
I don't think anyone watches formula one for the passing. The cars are too fragile and the egos too big to fit them two wide down the track. I like formula one because they're ridiculously fast, and still manage to enjoy it. If all I cared about was passing I'd just watch nascar.
Big cities suck
"Not putting miles on your Ferrari is like not having sex with your girlfriend so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend." -Napolis
Hence "legitimate" passing. Overtaking is so much more exciting when there is a real struggle to make the maneuver stick. Any given NASCAR race has meaningless overtaking because the field just bunches up again every 20 minutes; next you think of the last 10 minutes of the 2008 Belgian Grand Prix… that was truly exciting to watch even though it was only a few exchanged passes between Raikkonen and Hamilton.

As has been said, WTCC is excellent racing in my opinion.
However, what an strange Q1. Maybe this race will really be interesting.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.
