    abomination

Someone please tell me why I should like this.

"In many ways the 2CV was very similar to its German counterpart, the Beetle. Today both cars still have a large group of fans and are considered automotive icons."

9kw output would hardly be enough to spin the flywheel.

Now have their own race series in Europe.
    24hour race in Ireland.
    Great fun and CHEAP.
Common for teams to change whole engines a couple of times to see them through the 24 hours. It can be done in less than 15 minutes
A car designed in France for the express purpose of offering cheap transport for farmers so being able to drive across a ploughed field was a requirement.
No home comforts - seats are like beach-chairs

You don't have to like it, but I don't have any issues with the many fans of this little car. Quite near to my house there's a man who owns two of these, and he's a member of the Western Canadian Citroen Owners Club (or something like that). It was quite memorable when I saw them all driving in a group along the highway, puttering along in the left lane. Move it, slowpoke

Anyway, they've certainly got a lot of character.

i like those, not as much as the beetle but i like them still. i've read that you can take the seats out to use for a picnic or something.

In this case each engine has 9 kw, and the offroad capabilities might not be far off that of a modern landcruiser, (yes I know that's hard to imagine, but you can read that it was used by oil companies in the middle east.

Anyway, it was fun to drive and at the end of the day the engine had more than 26 BHP, and it could do 120 on the highway (with tailwind).

That was why it had a roll-back fabric roof.
You could put it on a pole and use the wind to go fast
( and yes you could take the seats out for a picnic or to carry the farm animals ! )

Next time I need to move a grandfather clock I will look for someone who owns one of these and give it to them.

Box trailer ? Or a utility?
Almost unheard of in the 50s
It's appeal was you didn't need allt hose other things and it was cheap.
Also, remember, French auto design are renowned for being innovative and quirky at the same time !!

I personally have too much pride and self respect to be seen in anything that looks like that.

Much like French road rules it seems. I cant see the heat seeing the quirky side of a 8 foot clock hanging out the end of a little car like that. I am pleased to see that while you defend it , you are in tacit agreement with my sentiment.
