    Its actually fairly safe, considering the amount of shenanigans that drifters get upto on stretched tyres.

    There are a few cases of the tyre coming off the bead, however from what I know these are few and far between.

    It started out near as I can tell as a cost effective way of getting stiffer sidewalls from cheap tyres, and has progressed into the usual one-upmanship (in terms of skinny tyre on widest rim)

    (it's a fascination of mine. I could never do it ot my own car but its really interesting to see what others have done)

    I'm at work, so not right now - but a quick google should find you some impressive stretch.

    I'm of the persuasion that a little stretch is good, but there definately is a thing as too much.

    that yellow honda spazz is a personal nemesis of mine. one of my favourite engines in one of the worst, most hated car imaginable for it.

    Nope, started as a way to get wide wheels to fit under standard fenders without the tyre sticking out (which usually won't pass rego).
