Rare Classic Jaguar Spotted At Car Show

At the weekly car show I stop by, there was a rare (for my area) white Jaguar IX parked there last Friday.

All the windows were closed except the rear vent windows... they were cracked open about 3 inches so I put the camera in as best as I could.

Here are the photos I took of it. Anyone know what year the car is?

    Thanks, Kitdy.
Interesting that the model only lasted a few years.

The Mk IX was the last incarnation of a line which had started in 1950 with the Mk VII, and the Mks VII, VIII and IX were essentially the same car, with minor body and trim differences and some mechanical improvemnts as the series progressed. So the basic car had an 11 year life, and by 1961 was looking positively dated. This Mk IX dates from 1959.

The Mark VII was a popular in the big banger class of British Touring cars, there were even three works cars, one driven by a certain S. Moss.
Here is one, not a works car though, driven by Tiff Needell at a recent Goodwood Revival meeting.

Rowan Atkinson has also raced a Mk VII in historic saloon car racing

These are Cool. They are comparable to the MBZ and RR of the day, very luxiourious car for sure. The guys who owned them sometimes had drivers.
