ok, so your going to an extremely special occasion restaurant, what services and conveniances would you expect, and what would you wish they had, how much would you pay per person? (# of bottles in wine selection, number of menu items, valet etc, anything)

im just trying to get feedback here, anything you can think of would be great

And why not the friendly community of UCP that MP is such a part of? Why ask complete strangers when he has people he's hung around with online for months, and is more or less friends with? Sure they might be better, but it's just better to ask friends these things usually.

I guess the most important thing would be value for money. reasonbly fast service and good food will draw customers in all by itself.you know, mouth to mouth ads... perhaps once a wekk hire a relaxed/good band, then he atmosphere would also be pretty good.

edit: make sure you dont get a factory cafetaria atmosphere.

    requirements for a good restaurant:

Good quality and well prepared food, and not exotic food just because it is exotic,
There is no real relationship between top prices and top quality
Waiters who are not permanently making you aware that you have the privilege to be dining with them
    Comfy seats
NO music, it only disturbs conversation
    NO smoking, for obvious reasons
Good taxi facilities, so everybody can enjoy the wine list.

I'm a wine guy, so I'm disappointed if I don't see something other than the usual swill that people who know nothing about wine drink. I'm not looking for top shelf, as if I wanted that, I'd be at a really posh place, but at least something other than the crap I see in the liquor aisle at the local 7-11. It's also a must to have Guinness on tap if I'm going to be drinking beer.
