    UK Speeding record broken

Timothy Brady was caught doing 172mph in his 997 turbo in Oxfordshire, to be honest i am surprised this is the fastest yet. Apparently he was on a dual carriageway.

I also find it odd that the authorites portray this as dangerous by saying it was fast enough for a boeing 747 to take off..

    Remember, j, it's the fastest CAUGHT !!
No great surprise as if you had a brain and intended going that fast it makes sense to recce the road and have spotters.

    Who compared it to a 747 ?
The prosecution - trying to get the judge to grasp it - or the police - trying to get the numpties to grasp it - or the press trying to get the chavs to undersand it

Big deal. What most people don't realise is that in the time it took him to reach 172mph, it would have taken that long to get to 120mph in a Golf GTi.

Hmm... Odd that it wasn't qualified as being the fasted that a car has ever been prosecuted for speeding.

A fella on the back of a Fireblade was nailed for doing 175mph. Though he wasn't caught in the act as such, he was prosecuted after the police got hold of the video he took of himself doing it...

I don't know if that was an indicated 175mph, mind you, or an actual 175mph.
