i couldve done it in a laser... it wasnt the fact that the cars a turbo import that made the crash happen, pilot error

Ive got the front stripped right off now, all the old cooler piping out as well. Just heard from the wreckers that a nose cut will cost me $700 and then about $200 to get it shipped here from just north of Newcastle. a grand straight up and i havent even gotten it to the repairers yet

Still on the bright side of things ive sold/am selling some parts i dont need anymore or am putting off to raise funds which is going nicely.

havent heard from the fella i hit or the police yet

You're lucky, let me just say that...

When my brother had his accident, it wasnt just any Landcruiser that rolled, it was a damn rural firetruck! A whole bunch of firemen were down at the hospital with my brother and the guy in the cruiser, trying to stir shit with my brothers friends and my family. Then theres the police....Even though it was my brother that crashed into the firetruck, the firetruck was at fault as they take liability when running red lights...which he did (emergency call to Eastern Creek (thats where it happened, on the GWH going into there btw) so hardly an emergency if a rural firetrucks been called). Of course, the police were supposed to follow it up, but nothing ever happened...This was after my brother was guranteed by the cops he wasnt at fault, and given the explanation ive just repeated.

Is that a License Terminating Points count?

I think it could have been much, much worse than it was/is. Your still alive and kicking and although it hurts financially, you'll end up wiser (If a little lighter) from the result.

That and it gives you the motive to get Boost to it's best

Interestingly, a rollcage may actually hurt you in a street car, because it may either: break apart and kill you, or stiffen the crumple zones

yeah do NOT buy a "comsetic" roll cage -- ie the cheap Alu ones
A roll cage stiffens the passenger compartment which is NOT part of any vehicles "crumple zone" .... unless you consider the external bars they used in the London-Sydney to strenghten the 'roo bars

I think the real danger of a roll bar on a street car is hitting it with your head without a helmet. That's something you could easily do without a 5 point harness, or one that isn't properly installed.

Edit: Didn't realize you were talking racing cars, so scratch that

a half cage could possibly be goin in the datto but by then i dont think itll be street driven much if at all. It does have a 5 point sparco harness bolted in.

How serious a roll cage can we get away with here street legal? Ive heard they cant have any bars intruding across the drivers door, i guess to make sure in an accident theres nothing stopping you getting out in a hurry
