the skyline owns because of the tolerance of high power with stock inards!the real stock power is around 320HP but it's lmited to 280HP for Japan.id probably prefer an R32 cause it's more casual and it still has the Race Bread 2.6 litre inline six with double overhead cams, electric fuel injection and best of all DA TWIN TURBOZ!(RB26DETT)
Shit, where the hell can I get some of that race bread?

Why do you think he might be a huge "mentally disabled" person instead of averaged sized?
Horsepower wins races. Torque pulls trailers.

Because my brain failed and the uncontrolled orgy of words flowing from my brain made me do it.

See kids, this is why you should figure out what to say before typing it out.

I personally think both cars are very close in terms of performance from the factory. Both weigh around the mid 1500 kilo range, both have 320-330bhp. From what I've read in years past though, the Skyline has closer to 250kW at the engine (345bhp) which has been backed up by numerous dyno tests on stock cars. Back in 1999-2000 there was a huge debacle over the Gentleman's agreement in Japan and many owners were having their cars run on rolling roads to find out true horsepower figures and to work out best fuel/air ratios based on 98RON unleaded.

The one thing that most people here overlooked was the fact that the ATTESA system on the GTR saps a great deal of power and thus results in less power at the wheels. The Supra needs only to put the power through a single diff, the Skyline needs to put it through two.

The Toyota has more torque although marginally so. Factory figures rate the cars as follows:

    1993 Toyota Supra Twinturbo = 450Nm @ 3650RPM
    1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GTR = 395Nm @ 4400RPM

The factory figures for the R34 are rated on the 206kW limit that the Japanese impose. I have seen dyno figures for stock R34's with power @ the wheels rated at 290bhp and 366Nm, which is, once you extrapolate an average power-train loss of about 22% works out to about 353bhp @ the flywheel.

I think the GTR has better grip than the Supra, but less punch, and whilst many may argue the validity of the Skyline having AWD versus the RWD of the Supra, the factory rear end on the Toyota was pretty impressive and the car was fitted with fat rubber on the rear end to counter the torque and boost. A friend of mine who owns a TT Supra '94 and is stock as a rock has the factory 275/45/17 rubber on the rear.

I think these two cars are inseperable. I could not pick one over the other. The Supra is arguably Japans greatest RWD car (versus the RX-7 and 350Z), the Skyline is the King of AWD cars in the land of the Rising Sun. Together, they're both extremely capable sports cars and you'd be hard-pressed to put a cigarette paper between them.

The Supra has taken drivers and team championships against the GT-R, just so you know.

    How does Toyota 'suck balls'?

With the Supra, Toyota created a very potent and great machine that can compete with top manufacturers of sports cars.

Personally I would choose either car. I lean more towards the Skyline but I'd love to take the keys to a Supra as well. I don't know where you get your 'underpowered' thoughts from regarding the Supra, but I have to say they are false!!!

True. The Supra runs with a 1995 Porsche 911 Turbo and the Ferrari Testarossa, according to Road and Track.

The Supra is underpowered??? It has more power than the skyline

By the way, I prefer the Supra because it has a RWD layout. I also like it's shape (Long hood with short tail).
