Get a shotgun. The classic sound of a shotgun is probably enough to scare away anyone even if there aren't any bullets.

Fortunately you don't live in socialist San Francisco where banning hand guns was an idea toyed around by the city that became a law for a month until they realized that they violated the constitution. Even then, it required a judge to get them to drop it.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

If anyone breaks into my house they'll see one of these. (or a .45)

I don't keep it loaded but there is a clip right next to it ready to be put in safely stored in a locking box under my bed. You never know when something will need shooting.

On another note there was a shooting at my school today. Not actually on campus grounds but on a sidewalk about 50 yards from where they start. From what I've heard it was one student who shot another during an argument, but nobody here has yet to hear of any truth from official campus personnel of campus police. I hope they don't end up doing a sweep of the campus for guns because that would suck.

    That's a good idea. The rifle I have is only a .22.
Too bad my brother didn't give me the other guns he had (he sold them)...a .357 magnum and some type of automatic.

They are? Then why don't you post the actual Swiss statistics?

You were corrected by them several times already, isn't that good enough?

I don't even know where to begin... There is no such law. You should know that if you read the replies to your posts.

Yes recent events indicate that removing weapons from campuses is a bad idea!

So when this assailant sneaks in at night and is standing over your bed demanding your worldly possessions, what exactly is your plan re acquiring the rifle , separate ammo, loading it and shooting him? How long will he be required to wait?

Is that an M1 Garand? It looks real cool.

There was a bomb threat and a fire threat at my school on Monday and Tuesday. Not much special to report.

She doesn't even know the rifle is in the house because one of my brothers used to own it and he gave it to me. It's in a closet behind a lot of things and in a cloth carrying case. Yes, the ammo is kept separate and in this house, being 2,618 sq. ft., it's easy to keep it well-hidden.

Incidentally, the rifle operates (fires) very nice for being about 60 years old. There's almost no kickback when firing, although the gun is kind of heavy. My brother restored it before giving it to me. It does need new ammo... what I have is over 5 years old.
And she wouldn't have noticed you test firing it?

I don't test fire it at home (obviously). I've only fired it at a target range.

Yes, I just heard about it now.

I didn't even remember I made this thread, but I was hoping it wasn't going to be used again.
