    One ups man ship

I have a brother-in-law who loves to engage in a game of one-ups-manship. I recently purchased a Pontiac G8 which I am very proud of, and have always wanted one. Easter presented a great time to show this car off at a family gathering. However, when pulling in the driveway I see this BMW Alpina B7, which my brother-in-law had just purchased. Well, needless to say my moment of glory was stolen from me. What a magnificent car. I don't really care all that much for Bimmers, but I was totally impressed with this car. If you're not that familiar, much of it is built and tuned by Alpina. It is a 2007 seven series, with a supercharged 4.4 liter V8 (rated at 550 hp), 6 speed automatic and weighs 4600 lbs. What a machine. I included pics.

I have to say, Alpinas are the only non-OEM cars I would consider buying.

Also, lovely to see how anti-trend they are (were); when everyone insists (insisted) with dual-quad-million exhausts, they go with simple twin tail pipes on the left.

In 1963/1964 Alpina started with putting twin double Webers on the Neue Klasse BMW's. I still regret that I did not keep the classified adds for these from Auto Motor und Sport.
