If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.
(Ted Joans)
Yes? what if you were peacefully riding a bycicle and one of this spoiled guys came flat out trying to escape the police (and you know they do that a lot) and run you over? Would you still believe it was your fault? Would you still think that is acceptable?
That's not the point. One thing is going a bit over the legal limit but trying to reasonably judge the conditions in which you are doing it. Another thing is racing against the clock over roads that are being used for common and civilized people on their way to work/school/whatever.
When you speed in your car, you are doing probably 180kms/h on the highway. These guys reach speeds well over 200kms/h on one lane roads with oncomming traffic.
And even worse is when you do it in groups and even have a millionaire organisation to do something that is way over illegal. It fits in the concept of organized crime.
Money can't buy you friends, but you do get a better class of enemy.
A. The Gumball itself does not condone speeding or wreckless driving, however they cant control what their participants do, theyre not the government.
B. If you break the law while driving you are just as wrong as they are, thats why i dont shun them, however i dont put people at risk. What happened was an accident, and accidents happen...

Yeah, because if they publicly stated that they 'condone speeding and reckless driving', they'd be in jail and it'd be Game Over Gumball.
One thing to drive 32 mph on a 25 mph road at night coming home from work and it's another to blast a hopped up Ferrari 200+ mph.B. If you break the law while driving you are just as wrong as they are, thats why i dont shun them, however i dont put people at risk. What happened was an accident, and accidents happen...
It wasn't the participants that were killed? I didn't know that..
But still what I said I hold onto. There are reckless drivers that participate in the Gumball but there are also people who are proud motorists (From what I've seen on TV) and drive sensibly and enjoy themselves. Its just a shame that certain individuals put an otherwise desirable motoring event (in theory) to shame. I'm sure there are similar events like the Gumball. Its just a shame that the most publicised is famous for all the wrong reasons.
Isn't that the same thing? Gumball is famous for being reckless and now stupidly dangerous? Aka infamous for the right reasons to stop this happening again.
There are plenty of supercar "tours" etc, most of them unpublicised, and most of them are probably infinitely more enjoyable for driving "enthusiasts" than simply mowing along Autoroutes at top speed with a bunch of knobbers in tow, getting pissed every night, driving whilst "impaired" and crashing into things.
Gumball: It's not a race it's a twatfest!
