Hyundai Genesis vs. Kia Amanti

Hey Everyone,

Which do you guys prefer in regards to the best Korean cars, the Hyundai Genesis or the Kia Amanti?

what models are those? Never heard of either of them, or are these North American only models....

Edit: The Amanti is being sold here as the Opirus....one of my favourites, on each car show I take a picture, just out of fear that it may never be shown again.....

the Opirus is sold as Amanti in Canada. And, the Genesis is a new car from Hyundai that will be released mid-2008!

Ah yes, I remember it. It's the one which Kia tried to be as cheesy as a 1990's Buick with disastrous results, isn't it?

Taking the bussiness of making cars properly = win, therefore the Genesis.

The only problem with this comparo is that the Genesis is barely even out.

the genisis is still a concept meaning that it doesn't have to deal with the real world practicality that the amanti does

The Grandeur is called the Azera here. don't know what's special bout it .... nothing spectacular and selling at a silly price - around $70,000 USD, same as a BMW 320. The larger Accord and Camry 2.4 are 'only' going at around $50,000 USD.

It's already been presented and it goes on sale in Korea in the 8th of January. It'll have two engines a 3.8-litre V6 with 300bhp and a 4.6-litre V8 with 380bhp.

The Kia comes on a little strong but I can see myself growing to like it. The Hyundai is nicer off the bat, but then again, it does look a touch like everything else on the road. It works, though, I'll give it that.

I'm pretty split. The Kia just looks like an Optima (sorry, guys), and the Hyundai's lines just seem a little disjointed, with a touch of Infinity G in the profile and Mercedes in the taillights. I would say the killer for me is the Hyundai grille which looks like one of those generic grilles they photoshop onto a luxury car to put it on tire shine spray bottles. So, Kia by a nose, pun actually not intended but very a propos .
